Products
Olio Grullo is a top quality extra virgin olive oil awarded in many national and international competitions. Production zone: East of Florence, in the plots located in Sieci, Fiesole, Monteloro, Montefiesole (altitude in between 200-600 m.s.l) Denomination Olio Igp Toscano Colline di Firenze Bio Cultivar: leccino, frantoio, morellino and pendolino Harvest time: the olive harvest takes place at the beginning of veraison when the accumulation of polyphenolic substances is at the highest level; the different cultivars were harvested in between October and November Harvesting method: olives are hand stripped or are picked with the help of mini electric harvesters. Extraction methods: All the selected olives are pressed, within a few hours of harvest, in the company state- of- the art mill by means of a cold extraction system in a controlled atmosphere. Every step is meticulous: the pressing speed and technology are adjusted for each cultivar and each batch; the extraction temperatures (24°C/ 75°F) are constant and controlled. The extra virgin olive oil is filtered immediately after extraction. This combination of technologies is intended to to maintain the organoleptic properties unaltered for a high quality oil rich in beneficial substances. Analysis data: Our oil is rich in polyphenols (it has been awarded by the Tuscany Region for the best Tuscan IGP oil and for its quantity of polyphenols) which are important for our health and therefore can almost be considered a medicine. Art & Oil: A new harvest every year, a new story every year. The oil changes from year to year, affected by environmental factors. Hence the idea of always proposing new labels, each dedicated to significant socio-environmental issues that marked the vintage.
